April 2015

China has a crucial role to play in the 21st century, and there is no clearer recognition of this than in the expansion to China of the world's most prestigious awards recognizing outstanding leadership qualities, the Rhodes Scholarships.  Another sign of Oxford’s presence in China are the many Oxford products – school bags, clothing, furniture – that are sold in shops across China. Find out about Oxford Limited and its role in managing the branding and licensing programme of the University.  The stunning transformation of the New Bodleian into the Weston Library has been hitting the headlines around the world for creating a library for the future, but the hundreds of donors who have supported the project all have their stories to tell – the story of what the Bodleian means to them.

Don’t forget to book your places at two Oxford events in Hong Kong and Beijing this month on the hottest topic of the day, innovation.  As we head into the Easter weekend, spare a thought for the Dark Blues men and women’s crew who are doing a last push in their training ahead of the historic Oxford Boat Race on 11 April where, for the first time in history, they will be racing on the same day and on the same championship course.
