Dr Christopher Brown has been Director of the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology since 1998. Previously he was at the National Gallery, London, where he was Curator of 17th century Dutch and Flemish paintings and then Chief Curator. He is the author of numerous articles, books and exhibition catalogues, particularly on the work of Rubens, Van Dyck and Rembrandt. Founded in 1683, the Ashmolean is Britain's first public museum and the great university museum in the world. As an international centre of teaching and research, the Ashmolean is perfectly placed to give students and researchers direct access to its outstanding collections, from the world's largest and most important selection of Raphael drawings as well the foremost collection of modern Chinese art in the West.
Ben Brown, an Oxford alumnus, opened Ben Brown Fine Arts in London in 2004 after working at Sotheby’s and Waddington galleries. Ben Brown Fine Arts is now also in Hong Kong. The gallery exhibits important 20th century international art, including British, Italian and American art and German photography. Its new exhibition of work by critically acclaimed Brazilian artist Vik Muniz shows the use of unusual materials in the photographic process. Often working in series, Vik Muniz uses dirt, diamonds, sugar, string, chocolate syrup and garbage to create bold, witty and often deceiving images drawn from pages of photojournalism and art history

Timothy Endicott has been Dean of the Faculty of Law since October 2007. He is a Fellow in Law at Balliol College, and has been a Professor of Legal Philosophy since 2006. Professor Endicott writes on Jurisprudence and Constitutional and Administrative Law, with special interests in law and language and interpretation.He is the author of Vagueness in Law (OUP 2000), and Administrative Law (OUP 2009). After graduating with the AB in Classics and English, summa cum laude, from Harvard, he completed the MPhil in Comparative Philology in Oxford, studied Law at the University of Toronto, and practised as a litigation lawyer in Toronto.
