The Oxford CREAT Scholarships
Oxford alumni are ambassadors for the University and often act as a bridge between the academic and business worlds. Dr Yang Tang (Templeton 2005) and now Managing Director of CREAT Capital Co. Ltd, part of a leading investment company in China, had a vital role in setting up the new Oxford-CREAT Graduate Scholarships. These will provide full funding for two students from China per year to pursue an MBA, Master of Public Policy, MSc in Financial Economics or MSc Law & Finance at Oxford. With the firm belief that higher education is the catalyst for technology and progress, the CREAT group, under the leadership of Mr Wu Xu, CEO, has dedicated a portion of the company’s profits to philanthropy each year, from maintaining rural elementary schools to supporting graduate students undertaking advanced degrees. The support for the Oxford-CREAT Graduate Scholarship is their first donation to an overseas project. It is the wish of the CREAT group that the Oxford-CREAT Scholars will make a considerable contribution to the further development of China’s economy in the future as leaders in their chosen fields.
