Annual Fund

I was fortunate to receive a scholarship and gain a world class education here at Oxford, and I am writing to ask you to help other students by making a gift to support graduate scholarships.
Having been born and raised in the Brazilian Amazon, Oxford was a distant reality – literally and metaphorically. Studying here would not have been possible without the scholarship I received and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity. My Oxford degree will enable me to make a significant contribution to the indigenous people and forests under threat in Brazil.
The cost of a graduate education for an international student is around £31,000 a year. Whilst students apply for research grants, many students, like me, would not be able to continue their research and learning at Oxford without the support of scholarships. Now, more than ever, Oxford needs the support of alumni to ensure people from around the world and the United Kingdom, who strongly desire to make a difference to their societies, can benefit from an Oxford education.
I have experienced, first-hand, the transformative power of a scholarship at this University. As I enter the ranks of Oxford’s alumni, I ask you to consider supporting Oxford’s students. I hope that you will choose to make a donation. Collectively, we can make a real difference to the lives of future Oxford students and to their own goals for changing the world.
